John Papazian is someone who has seen the tech world change up close. Today, he is the Chief Business Officer at Intersource, a cybersecurity and consulting company. But his journey began much earlier—before the internet was what we know today.
John’s story is not just about one person. It’s about how small ideas can grow into strong companies. It’s also about how the right mindset, tools, and people can help startups and IT companies grow with confidence.
John began his career working with a company called Dialog Information Services, one of the first to work with online data before the internet became mainstream. In the 90s, he moved into consulting—handling everything from infrastructure and networking to security. Back then, people like John needed to know how entire systems worked—from the cables to the applications.
He built a rare skillset: someone who understood both the big picture and the small technical details. And that experience helped shape the rest of his journey.
Intersource started in 2007 with a focus on business analytics. Over time, it became a boutique IT consulting and cybersecurity firm that works with clients across different industries, like:
The company has grown into two main divisions:
Today, Intersource has teams across the US, India, Costa Rica, and Eastern Europe. They help clients in different time zones with both technical delivery and local support.
John shared that Intersource works with all kinds of businesses—including early-stage startups and SaaS companies. These smaller teams often focus on building great products, but sometimes forget about security.
That’s where Intersource steps in. They offer:
For tech startups, this kind of help can make the difference between scaling confidently—or
hitting a wall.
One of the most exciting parts of the conversation with John was hearing how Intersource uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nearly every part of the business.
Here’s how they use AI:
According to John, AI has not only made their team faster—it has helped them offer smarter services to their clients.
For John, cybersecurity is not just about protection. It’s about enabling companies to move faster and build better.
He says:
“You can’t outgrow bad architecture or skip security planning. It’ll catch up to you.”
That’s why Intersource focuses on building strong foundations for their clients—whether it’s a Fortune 500 company or a 5-person startup.
At Exotto, we believe in the same vision—helping startups grow in a smart, systemized way. While Intersource focuses on securing and optimizing operations, Exotto supports the client acquisition side of the journey.
We help:
…by setting up their client acquisition systems. This includes:
Many startups have great products but struggle with getting the word out. That’s where we come in—as the plug-and-play marketing and growth team they need to fill their pipeline with qualified leads.
Our goal?
To make sure no good startup gets stuck because they don’t know how to get clients consistently.
John Papazian’s story is a great example of how experience, clarity, and focus can build strong companies. From the early internet days to leading innovation with AI and security today, he’s helping Intersource solve complex challenges for modern businesses.
As part of our podcast research, we’re grateful to have spoken with John and learned from his journey. His story, and Intersource’s mission, show just how important it is to blend technology, trust, and systems thinking when building a company in 2025 and beyond.
At Exotto, we’re here to support that vision—by helping more founders get the right clients, with the right systems, at the right time.
Helping founders scale with precision, not pressure.
